Well as the first Ghibli movie this sure is weird. It's about this girl named Nausicaa who lives in a peaceful valley called the valley of the wind. Therefore the title comes in. But the rest of the world is a VERY bad place during some crazy war the humans made some god beast things (not to be confused with Super beast god DANCOUGA) that destroyed basically everything in the world and made the plants give off poisonous spores which in turn made the insects turn into HUGE MONSTERS and can kill a human in breathed in for too long. But since she lives in this valley the wind blows the spores away so its all right to live there.

                               The movie starts off with Nausicaa flying around on her crazy flying board thing checking out a town that got destroyed when suddenly an Ohmu (The biggest beetle snail thing in the movie) starts to chase after this one guy. She calms it down with her insect flute and saves the guy who turns out to be her uncle.

                   So they head back to the valley and chill out the rest of the day. That night the wind seems to be acting weird and then they see why A FREAKIN HUGE AIRSHIP IS COVERED IN FLAMES AND CRAZY BUGS AND IS GOING TO CRASH!!!! So of coarse our Ghibli heroine flies up and tries to safely get it down but it crashes *insert cool explosion*. Now this is a bad thing because first this was a royal ship from one of the few countries left and second one of the bugs are still alive. Afraid that if the let it live it may call for backup and the same if they shoot it Nausicaa comes up and helps it fly away.

                        The next day the kingdom that's plane crashes comes to see what happened and in the process annex the valley and even going as far as killing the king (Nausicaa's dad). This pisses everyone off but they cant rebel because they are up against an army....

                            So.... What is this crazy empire up to? Why is this ship so important? And how is Nausicaa going to solve mankinds problems with war and living in harmony with the insects.

Overall- 8/10 Well even as Ghibli's first movie this movie has VERY good animation and a great soundtrack. While it may scare the bageezes out of kids (Heck it scared me) its a fun movie non-the-less. Also this movie starts off the HUMANS SUCK morals and how we are horrible creatures that most their other movies follow
