Well Ghibli return to its mf how much we suck as humans but this time through immense depression. This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE, its the movie that I have forced nearly all my friends to watch whether they like anime or not and so far only two (SARAH AND JORDAN!!) have thought it was bad *goes off to find a big stick to beat them with*.
Well the movie starts off with you seeing a dieing starving boy at the train station while people walk by uncaring. He then collapses and dies. You then see the Janitors come bye and check to see if he died or not then go through his possession's they then find a tin can and wonder what's inside but decide to just toss it. It then lands in a field and materializes into a little girls ghost she then see's the dead boy and tries to rush over to help him but his ghost stops her. They then board a train and watch a city get firebombed and remember what happened to them.
This is when the movie really starts. The movie starts off with Seita (the 14 year old brother) burying all their stuff because they are going to get bombed he then tells his mom that she needs to get to the shelter because of her heart condition and he'll carry Setsuko (his little sister about 4). His mother then leaves and he finishes off burying the stuff when the firebombs hit. He then leaves very quickly with his little sis in tow. They manage to escape the city and get to the school, which is now a hospital. Once in their Seita learns about the horrific condition of his mom. They are then forced to live with there @$$ have an aunt who later kicks them out and they are forced to live in an old shelter in a hill.
Overall- 200,000,000,000/10 if there is ONE movie to see, SEE THIS NOW!!!! If there is an anti-war movie this is it. And no it is NOT a Pro-Japanese movie if they didn't speak Japanese and one or two culture things you would never guess it was about the Japanese. Man this movie is SO GOOD!!! BUY IT NOW GET THE SPECIAL TWO-DISC EDITION I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
