Unlike Samurai X Rurouni Kenshin is much more lighthearted at the start. It starts off with kenshin wondering, for he is now a rurouni, (wonderer, bum, Homeless person) into a town here a lady named Karou thinks he is the hitokiri Battosai (assassin) so she decides to try to defeat him. She doesn't do so good but kenshin doesn't hurt her cause that would be against all he stands for now. So he beats up some bad guy and now he becomes a full time free loader at Karou's place. Later he meets a ton of other supporting cast members. Such as.

Yahiko- Little kid with no family who wants to be the ultimate swordsman.

Sano- An ex-bandit who also becomes a full time free loader.

Megumi- A doctor who used to make drugs for the bad dudes.

Misao- a 16-year-old ninja.

Saito- one of the guys who belonged to the Shinsen Gumi an opposing force to kenshin's party during the Meiji Revolution.

Aoshi- One of Misao's close friends. He has a huge rivalry with kenshin throughout the show.

Shishio- The one who was going to succeed kenshin for the Battosai position. But after the revolution was over the government betrayed him and set him on fire. So now he wants to change the government.

Well after like the first 30 eps the series gets REALLY serious because Shishio shows up. Can kenshin and gang kick his butt in time? BUT even after that there are still like 40 eps left where more bad guys show up. So this show is VERY long as you can see.

Overall- all 95 eps were very fun to watch except the last 5 which I just kinda watched anyway but this series gets a 9/10.
