As said above this is a MASSIVE parody of giant robot shows. This show kinda suffers from being a parody then serious the parody then serious. The show is about this kid named Akito an 18-year-old guy who lived on mars until the aliens attacked and killed everyone. He then ended up on earth and quit his piloting job and became a cook. Later he was hired to be the cook on the Nadesico a new top of the line battleship. On his way their he meets his childhood friend Yurika. When he gets to ship he meets Go a guy trying to pilot an aestevalis (the giant robots) while shouting out the attacks like an old 70's robot cartoon. He then breaks his leg and Akito has to pilot it.

            Akito and Go become best friends because of their common interest on an old giant robot cartoon called gekingdar 3(think Getta Robo plus Mazinger). So they take off and have to fend off the "Jovian lizards" to save earth.

Overall- 8/10 some parts made no sense like the mars base and Nadesico scene never being referred to again. But a pretty cool show non-the less.
